How to Create a Gift Voucher in Xola
Gift voucher is a type of pre-paid card, either physical or digital, that can be used to purchase goods and services. Many retailers, restaurants and other businesses offer gift cards as a way to boost sales or reward customers for their purchases. Gift cards can also be a good choice for shoppers who don’t know what to buy someone else or as a convenient alternative to cash when buying products and services online.
Gift cards can be sold or given to anyone, including family members and friends. In addition to gifting, businesses can use gift cards to promote themselves by offering them as prizes for contests or sweepstakes. Some businesses, such as barber shops and hair salons, even offer them as an employee incentive.
If you sell gift cards, make sure that your policies are clear and understandable. If you don’t, you could be violating consumer protection laws in your state or country. These laws typically cover issues such as refunds and expiry dates. If you don’t have a clear policy in place, you could risk losing business from people who want to return or exchange items they bought using a gift card.
Some states require that gift cards have a fixed date of expiration. This can help prevent fraud and encourage customers to spend more than the value of the card. However, some traders allow customers to extend the expiry date of a voucher, depending on their terms and conditions and the law in their state.

To create a gift card product in Xola, go to your Dashboard and select “Products.” Choose the Gift Card option and click Create Product. Name the product and add descriptions and an image. Next, choose whether to include taxes and fees in the prepaid amount. Finally, choose whether to enable the voucher to be used for product extras such as photos or additional equipment.
When you are finished, click Save Product. If you want to publish the product immediately, click Publish; otherwise, click Schedule and then select a future date to publish. If you are not ready to sell gift cards, you can hide the product in your store instead.
When a gift card is purchased, the customer receives an email with a voucher code and a link directly to your online redemption page. The lucky recipient can then redeem the voucher to book their experience. When the voucher is redeemed, the customer receives a confirmation email with their ticket information and receipt. Purchases made with gift cards don’t show up in your revenue and other sales key performance indicators in Xola, but you can export all voucher data as a csv file by clicking Export in the Gift Card panel.
